Chrysler, a once-dominant automaker, stated in early 2022 that it aims to rebrand itself as an all-electric automaker by 2028. The Chrysler Airflow, a new crossover notion shown virtually for the CES client technology exhibition in Las Vegas, is the first step in those proposals. As stated by Chrysler CEO Christine Feuell, the tech-savvy concept of the automobile is “a nod” to an automobile that the firm wants to sell in 2025.
The first new Chrysler design in recent years appears to be an electric crossover with the Airflow trademark. We now have additional details on this concept automobile, which was first displayed at Stellantis’ EV Day event in 2021 and is supposed to promote new technology such as electric platforms, driver-assistance capabilities, and infotainment software. At the firm’s Software Day presentation, Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares said it’s “more than a pure concept” and suggested that this automobile go into production by 2024, supported by United States trademarks for the Airflow brand filed in 2019 and 2021.
It’s no surprise that this Chrysler has a shape and dimensions comparable to the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which is currently selling well. Although we don’t know the Airflow’s precise measurements, it appears to be a competition for the Mach-E and other compact-crossover EVs like the Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID.4.
What To Expect
STLA Small, STLA Medium, STLA Large, and STLA Frame are the four new Electric Vehicle platforms revealed by Stellantis. The Airflow appears to be a good fit for STLA Medium. According to prior statements made by Stellantis regarding its new Electric Vehicle models, it might have a spectrum of up to four hundred and forty miles and use electric motors of one hundred and sixty-seven to two hundred and forty-one hp. A dual-motor all-wheel-drive system will likely be available.
Interior And Exterior Design
The Airflow has a slew of screens on the inside, including a massive central infotainment display flanked by separate panels for the driver and passenger. There are additional entertainment screens in the backseat. Over-the-air upgrades and auto-to-auto communication are likely to be among the connectivity options. The automobile’s features, particularly the vast screens, seem to be identical to some of Stellantis’ recent products, like the Jeep Grand Wagoneer SUV.
The crossover’s exterior has a revised “Chrysler Wing” insignia connected into a cross-car grille and LED light blade, as well as a new design direction for Chrysler. A full-width LED taillight also runs the length of the car.
Fuell noted that from its beauty to its dynamic posture, the design concept is a tribute to the design direction we want to take Chrysler in and truly unify that theme over the whole portfolio.
The debut of the Chrysler Airflow as a production design has yet to be determined; however, given that the concept features side market lights and outside mirrors, we believe it will arrive in showrooms shortly rather than later. Stellantis plans to release its new platforms in 2024, so this Chrysler might debut in the United States in 2025.
